1979 Rams Set Adds All-Pros & Pro Bowlers
The Rams of the 1970s flirted with greatness but could not get to the Super Bowl despite having a winning or best record in all but one season during the 1970s. Favorite coach George Allen was brought back to get the team over the hump in 1978 but it was a disaster, his tough policies seemed outdated to the team, created a tense atmosphere. After two disappointing pre season games, Allen was dumped in favor of player's coach Ray Malavasi. The Rams fielded a 12-4 team in 1978 and had home field advantage for the NFC Championship game but fell to the Cowboys in a shutout, 28–0.
This 20-card set features some Pro Bowlers and All-Pros who did not have a regular card in the 1978 set.
