New Orleans Gets Their Saints For 1967
Coach Tom Fears had the task of building a team with some choice NFL veterans such as Charlie Bradshaw, Jim Taylor, Dave Whitsell, Bill Kilmer and Paul Hornung. The Saints took their stand in the Capitol Division, playing at Tulane Stadium. Like many expansion teams, the Saint only managed a losing record, going 3–11. The veterans were over the hill and Paul Hornung thought it best to retire before taking the field – probably a wise move. Rookies Dan Abramowicz and Dave Rowe were highlights however.
