This set is a continuation of the 1964-1967 Philadelphia Gum Football sets. They never was a set in 1968 so RetroCards has designed what one may have looked like. This series of cards goes away from the posed photography of the 1964-1967 designs and instead uses action or sideline shots. Some partial block outs are used where by parts of the photos overlap onto the name title box, making the photo "jump off the page." The first installment in this series was a special Ice Bowl 18-card set.
