1971-72 Hockey Gets An Update!
The 1971-72 hockey set is undoubtedly the most famous and beloved set of the 1970s. In an era where card designs were designed to appeal to kids, we find that adults consistently rate this set as their favorite design. Released first by Topps as a 132-card set, the Canadian O-Pee-Chee card company doubled the Topps set with and expansive 264-card set that, in mint condition, fetches big money.
RetroCards has added another 36 cards in two separate series that covers 24 individual player cards, eight NHL Brothers cards, a Ken Dryden Conn Smyth Award card, a Stanley Cup Game card, an All-Star Game card, and a wrapper card.
Numbered 265-300, these cards have backs that resemble the O-Pee-Chee backs from 1971-72 and they include a french translation and statistics.
