The Baby Bull in Royal Blue
The much heralded career of Orlando Cepeda saw him win Rookie of the Year, MVP in 1967, a World Series Championship in 1967, the Outstanding Designated Hitter 1973, and finally induction into Baseball's Hall Of Fame. Like so many athletes, the great ones seldom go out on top and in the case of Cepeda, he finished up his final season playing a mere 33 games with the Kansas City Royals in 1974.
His final baseball card during his career was as a member of the Boston Red Sox in 1974. Though he signed with the Kansas City Royals in 1974, a "Traded" card might have worked that year but since he technically wasn't traded (he signed with the Royals as a free agent) that wasn't ideal. So RetroCards did a Royals card for Cepeda in a 1974 and 1975 design.
